MitoPath está desarrollando activamente una terapia génica que utiliza un virus modificado (AAV2/8) para administrar millones de copias funcionales del gen TYMP a las células hepáticas. Creemos que este enfoque tiene una alta probabilidad de mejorar significativamente la calidad de vida de los pacientes con MNGIE. Para poder ofrecer esta terapia génica a todos los afectados, primero necesitamos recaudar fondos y demostrar resultados efectivos mediante un ensayo clínico. Ahí es donde usted entra en escena.
