EU-LIFE Community Meeting 2024The EU-LIFE Community Meeting is an annual gathering for all members of the EU-LIFE alliance, a group of leading European research institutes in the life sciences. It serves as a platform for exchanging ideas, aligning strategies, and planning for the future of research in Europe. The meeting also provides an opportunity for working groups to meet and discuss best practices.
Key Purposes and Activities
Strategy Alignment: The Strategy Group (made up of the EU-LIFE board of directors, main representatives, and executive director) uses the meeting to discuss and plan for the future of research in Europe.
Best Practices Exchange: Working groups meet to share best practices in areas like core facilities, grants and funding, IT, and human resources.
Planning for the Future: The meeting allows for alignment of strategies and planning for the next year's activities.
Community Building: It fosters interaction and collaboration among all members of the EU-LIFE alliance.
Knowledge Sharing: The meeting can also include presentations and discussions on emerging topics, such as the application of artificial intelligence in life science research.
Working Groups and Task Forces: EU-LIFE has several active working groups that meet at least once a year at the community meeting to discuss specific areas of research and operations.
These working groups elect a chair who participates in strategy meetings to align activities and coordinate with other groups.
Task forces are smaller groups of experts who are brought together for specific, short-term assignments.
