Company Description
Qurv emerged from ongoing collaborative research at ICFO between the Functional Optoelectronic Nanomaterials group and the Quantum Nano-Optoelectronics group led by ICREA Professors at ICFO Drs Gerasimos Konstantatos and Frank Koppens respectively, both founding members of Qurv. Stijn Goossens helped develop this technology from its earliest stages as a research engineer at ICFO and will continue as Qurv’s CTO. Antonios Oikonomou, Qurv’s CEO, holds a PhD from the University of Manchester, UK and joined ICFO’s KTT unit in 2018 as a business developer working together with the rest of the team to develop the business plan and relevant roadmaps for the constitution of the spin-off.
Product description
Wide-spectrum image sensor technologies and integrated solutions, including 10 patent families at the time of the company’s constitution, enable enhanced computer vision applications, addressing the expanding needs of an autonomous and intelligent new world. Their graphene/quantum dot image sensors platform technology allows operation from the visible to the short-wave infrared (SWIR) range and can be integrated with current CMOS low-cost, high-manufacturability processes.
