Spinoff information

Company Description

We are a multidisciplinary team with in-depth knowledge in different areas to provide creative and innovative solutions for the current challenges in biomedical devices technologies.
TRACTIVUS emerges as a spin-off from the research group GEMAT (IQS-Ramón Llull Univ.) and IDIBELL (Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute) in order to avoid bacterial colonization in medical devices.
Developing and providing infection-control solutions for long-lasting devices, Tractivus can reduce healthcare-acquired infections. Less infections reduce complications, hospital stays and the use of antibiotics, thus reducing resource allocation and costs for healthcare. Focusing on people, Tractivus provides a tool to improve the work of health professionals

Product description

PHOBOSTech technology have been developed over the years as a final solution to the current problems of medical devices. Our cost-effective patented technology allows to create nanostructures on the surface, preventing bacteria attachment and, therefore, bacteria colonization. As a result our devices show higher lifetime, lower associated costs, and no post-implantation problems without adverse effect on the patients.
PHOBOSTech technology avoids biofilm formation on medical devices, preserving the host's natural microbiota

UroPHOB urinary catheter - New bacteriophobic urinary catheter with PHOBOSTech technology shows the same mechanical properties as standard urinary devices, but it avoids bacterial colonization and biofilm formation during the urine drainage. The new product increases the lifetime of the device (up to 29 days) without colonisation problems, reducing the associated infections.

PHOBOSTech tracheal stent - New bacteriophobic tracheal stent with PHOBOSTech technology shows the same mechanical properties as standard devices but avoiding bacterial colonization and biofilm formation.
The implantation of the device follows the standard procedure and can be monitored through X-ray and fluoroscopy, thus facilitating implantation and following-up process. The performance of the device has been proofed to be clearly enhanced thanks to our technology.
