The Unit has six 3D printers and a surface scanner for reverse engineering, simple metrology and anatomical parts. 3D technologies 3 fused deposition moulding (FDM) printers. 1 medium-format stereolithography (SLA) printer. 2 material jetting (MJ) printers. Materials Multicolour. Multitexture (with hardnesses from Shore 40). Biocompatible material for generation of surgical guides and support tools or for skin contact.
Guidance and participation in research projects through radiological imaging (DICOM, NIFTI…), 3D design (CAD: Obj, STL, 3MX…) and 3D printing. Medical image acquisition for 3D design and planning (CT, MR, facial or surface image). Advanced segmentation of anatomical structures. Virtual 3D planning (computer aided design – CAD) of surgeries and other clinical applications with advanced imaging requirements, and of research. 3D printing of anatomical models (class I medical devices). Printing of cutting guides and positioning guides as well as other custom support systems for surgery or clinical training (class II medical devices). Custom simulators for instruction and training in advanced techniques.
