Market Data
In 3-5% of all implants, severe long-term side effects are observed in patients such as angioedema, sarcoidosis, granulomas, inflammatory nodules, Sjögren's syndome, etc. Other long-term or permanent functional deficits such as paresthesia, tissue necrosis and arteria occlusion might also appear in patients, causing important psychological sequelae. Currently, there is no product on the market to determine the predisposition of adverse reaction to injectables. For this reason, there is a need to develop new methods to anticipate and prevent the described side effects.

Patents: EP11715922.8 - Date: Nov 23rd, 2012 Status: Granted URL: https://data.epo.org/gpi/EP2564197B1-A-METHOD-FOR-DETECTING-THE-SUSCEPTIBILITY-TO-DEVELOP-ADVERSE-SIDE-EFFECTS-RELATED-TO-BIOIMPLANTS
Clinically validated in a multicenter study in Spain and The Netherlands, showing 90% confidence to predict sure complications and a 95% confidence to exclude complications. This allows identifying subjects who should be excluded from implantation with dermal fillers.
