USIC- Clinical research support unit

The Clinical Research Support Unit is located on the 13th floor of the Maternal and Child Health Area, at the Vall d'Hebron University Hospital, and consists of two centrally coordinated areas:

  1. The Health Department: provides healthcare support for the development of clinical research in Vall d'Hebron, and offers medical offices to users.

  1. The Management Area: its main function is to provide support in terms of ethics, methodology, regulations and management in conducting clinical research within the Vall d'Hebron, and is part of the SCReN Platform (Spanish Network of 'Clinical Research) of the Institute of Health Carlos III.

Equipments & Services Offered

Health Area Provides care support related to clinical trials and other research projects. It has 7 fully equipped medical offices for the examination and follow-up of patients participating in clinical studies. It also has a room for the extraction or infusion of drugs, a laboratory to work with clinical samples, a file for the documentation of clinical studies, as well as meeting rooms, also available for monitoring and / or auditing. Likewise, all the medical facilities are equipped for healthcare practice with computers connected to the Hospital’s network. Management Area The main function of the Management Area is to provide support in terms of ethics, methodology, regulations and management in conducting clinical research within the Vall d’Hebron. It is part of the SCReN Platform (Spanish Clinical Research Network) of the Carlos III Health Institute. Support and advice applies to drug-related clinical trials, clinical research with medical products, as well as other clinical research projects.
