A Cloud Optical Access Network for Virtualized GNSS Receivers

A cloud native SDN controller enabling smart networks and services for 6G and beyond. Based on a cloud-native, micro-services architecture, TeraFlow can be integrated with other network elements, providing end to end network orchestration and control and a versatile toolbox for flow aggregation, management, network equipment integration, AI and ML-based security, and forensic evidence for multi-tenancy.

IPOLE technology uses Kalman’s filter algorithms to combine GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite Systems) such as GPS, Galileo, Glonass and Boidu with accelerometers to overcome the critical restrictions that actual surveying poles face such as magnetic interferences produced by railways or electric power stations. IPOLE’s solution enables a superior velocity (no need to stop&go) and an increased area coverage thanks to an inclinable surveying pole (indoor electric) unaffected by magnetic fields.

The proposed Massively Decentralized (MD) Network Automation Framework (NAF) (MD-NAF) technology focuses on creating a new NAF where multiple network locations run a portion of that NAF. This NAF portion is not only responsible for the co-located equipment, but can also provide support for managing neighbour locations, for instance, in during peaks of infrastructure management workload, system upgrades, or even failures. The envisioned technology will enable infrastructure and network operators to provide high-quality services in 5G and beyond infrastructures while keeping the Total Cost of Ownership at reasonable levels.

Proposed sensor technology for multi-parameter detection using a single light source. The sensing structure consists of thin-metal layers of Chromium/Au or Ag/Au combined with Pd or Zinc Oxide as examples, where the sensing region has intersecting points that are illuminated by the light source allowing multiple parameter detection simultaneously. The design is compact and allows high integration of sensing capabilities in one device.

Low-cost wireless and wearable sensor tag technology for the detection of hazardous chemical compounds. The sensor tag uses microwave circuits and signals for sensing and wireless data transmission simultaneously. Allowing integrated gas sensing and wireless communication capabilities in one device.

AVEMEDIA is a disruptive approach based on a quasi-passive fiber optic distribution system and data plane interfaces with the suitable control and management tools for delivering to each passenger a personalized set of video on demand, audio streaming, in-train vehicle gaming and Internet connectivity among other possible services. These technological advances entail several benefits, including i) network architecture simplicity and scalability in terms of number of users and capacity; ii) high modularity, with different degrees of freedom that make the solution fully customizable; iii) no need for seat electronic boxes for the deployment of an entertainment system; and iv) low maintenance/operation cost while featuring data redundancy in case of a possible fiber cut.
