Ubiostat – Biostatistics unit

The Biostatistics Unit (Biostat), located on the fourth floor of the Biomedicine II building, has the mission of generating knowledge that can help improve health. Statistical methods are essential for designing studies, analyzing data and interpreting results. We work with researchers to turn their data into useful information to advance research. The UBiostat is under the direction of the IRBLLEIDA.

Clinical Research Support Unit (USIC)

The Clinical Research Support Unit (USIC) at IRBLleida is located on the ground floor of the Biomedicine II building at IRBLleida. It is a specialised area whose main objectives are to support the clinical research groups at IRBLleida, Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital and Santa Maria University Hospital in the promotion and development of quality clinical research, providing full or partial technical-methodological support for the project. This support may include: Providing advice to research groups on the design of their own studies. Coordinating the clinical trial: from the initial submission of documentation to the completion of the study, both administratively and in the care setting. Helping to ensure that clinical studies are carried out in compliance with the Good Clinical Practice Guidelines (GCPN) in research. It is a functional unit made up of 7 professionals: 3 nurses, 1 laboratory technician, 1 biologist and two pharmacists. The professionals carry out the following tasks: study coordinator, study nurse, date manager, monitor, sample processing and pharmacy. Cytometry

The Cytometry Service of IRBLleida was created in 2009. Since then, its main objective has been to support our users and grow as a Scientific-Technical Service. Its mission is to help our researchers achieve their experimental goals, both from the experimental design and in the development and subsequent analysis. The Cytometry Service is open not only to the research community of our center but also to the research community of the province of Lleida and to external users from private companies in our environment.

CREBA (Applied Biomedical Experimental Research Center)

CREBA (Centre for Applied Biomedical Experimental Research) is dedicated to translational biomedical research and continuous training of health professionals. Its main area of specialisation is porcine models, always following the 3Rs principle (reduction, refinement and replacement). Located in the village of Torrelameu (Lleida), CREBA is well communicated with the main cities of the country, both by high-speed train and by road. CREBA's facilities include an animal facility for pigs and four experimental operating theatres, with capacity for 8 operating tables for open surgery, laparoscopic surgery and other interventional techniques. It also has classrooms and annexes, as detailed in the following sections of this page.

Biobank IRBLleida

The IRBLleida Biobank is the unit responsible for the management of samples and associated data for research. This management includes all the processes of reception, processing, storage and making available to the scientific community the biological samples, guaranteeing at all times the quality of the samples and their traceability in compliance with current legislation. The IRBLleida Biobank includes biomedical research in Lleida, both in the healthcare system (Arnau de Vilanova University Hospital and Santa Maria University Hospital), and in the University of Lleida.
